In a class by itself, the 2006 Chevy Avalanche continues as a full-size truck that offers almost unlimited versatility and configurability, while delivering on the uncompromising performance capability demanded by full-size truck customers – Avalanche 2500 can tow up to 12,000 pounds (5,400 kg) when properly equipped. Avalanche's clever configuration choices begin with its revolutionary Convert-a-Cab System and Midgate, which provide unparalleled flexibility to quickly convert the vehicle from a pickup and SUV. Avalanche can seat up to six adults comfortably, while providing ample and secure storage with dual locking storage compartments on either side of the cargo box. The compartments also have drains, so they can be filled with ice and used as coolers. A three-piece rigid cargo cover with interlocking panels is also available.

Aveo enters the 2006 model year with enhanced levels of safety and convenience. The safety changes for '06 include standard side-impact air bags (seat mounted) for the driver and front passenger, as well as new, advanced two-stage frontal air bags with a passenger sensor cut-off switch. Also, the rear safety belts are longer. These changes enhance a vehicle already renowned for safety. The Aveo lineup for '06 includes a four-door sedan and a stylish five-door body style. Each seats five adults and is available in three trim levels: the Special Value Model, LS and LT. Aveo's size enhances maneuverability in crowded city environments, but its room – one of the roomiest vehicles in its segment – and highway manners make it a comfortable choice for longer road trips. Theater-style seating for the rear seats helps provide excellent visibility for all passengers.

The ultimate Corvette is posting numbers at the track and on the window sticker that will get attention. Chevrolet has announced that the fastest Corvette ever—the 505-horsepower Corvette Z06—will achieve 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds while still in first gear, and pricing will start at $65,800, including destination and freight charges.

Developed alongside the Corvette C6.R race car, the Corvette Z06 uses advanced lightweight materials typically found only in the most exotic supercars. "The new Corvette Z06 is the dividend from competing so successfully in endurance racing," said Dave Hill, Corvette's chief engineer. "It combines the strong attributes of the new, sixth-generation Corvette with the spirit, technology and know-how from the race program to form an American supercar with outstanding credentials."

With distinctive styling, a spacious, easily configurable interior and economical, Ecotec four-cylinder engine-based powertrains, the 2006 Chevy HHR suits any lifestyle. The HHR's unique design fuses elements of the 1949 Chevy Suburban – the original utility vehicle – and the SSR roadster. It is built on the same solid platform as the new Chevy Cobalt. An overall length of 176.2 inches and a cargo capacity of up to approximately 63.1cubic feet give the five-passenger HHR easy-to-maneuver dimensions and room for just about any lifestyle interest. Its reconfigurable and convenient storage compartments accommodate everything from groceries to surfboards.

The new Impala enters the mid-car segment with enhanced premium-quality features and attention to detail, including innovative flip-and-fold rear seats and revised suspension systems that deliver comfortable, quiet and more confident ride and handling characteristics.

Chevrolet Malibu SS

The 2006 Malibu SS and Malibu Maxx SS add excitement to the Malibu lineup, bringing a level of value-driven performance unique within the mid-car segment. The Malibu SS and Malibu Maxx SS are powered by a new, sophisticated 3.9L V-6 that uses variable valve timing and variable intake technology to help produce 240 horsepower. Unique interior and exterior appointments, along with sport-tuned suspensions and segment-largest 18-inch flangeless wheels, complete the SS packages. All '06 Malibu and Malibu Maxx models feature a new front-end appearance, with a sleek, dual-port grille design. LS, LT and LTZ models feature horizontal grilles with chrome trim surrounds, while Malibu SS and Malibu Maxx SS models feature grilles with a crosshatch pattern and platinum-look surrounds. Also, all '06 Malibu and Malibu Maxx models receive body-color side moldings for a more integrated and upscale appearance.

The aggressively styled 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo heats up the sizzling mid-car segment with enhanced premium-quality features, racing-inspired styling, a new family of powerful engines, as well as thoughtful attention to detail. A new look for the front and rear fascias – including bold headlamps and taillamps – is complemented by revised suspension systems that deliver comfortable, quiet and more confident ride and handling characteristics. These new ingredients improve on an already popular recipe for driving satisfaction.

Monte Carlo draws on a rich NASCAR stock car racing legacy – the most successful nameplate in the sport's history – to offer one of the industry's only true midsize personal coupes. The vehicle has remained true to the roots of style and performance established at its introduction in 1970. A new family of premium-feature V-6 engines is available in LS, LT and LTZ models, including a 211-horsepower 3500 3.5L V-6 and an available 3900 3.9L V-6 that uses variable valve timing and variable intake technology to help deliver 242 horsepower and 242 lb.-ft. of torque. The muscular Monte Carlo SS has a new 5.3L small-block V-8 that's good for 303 horsepower and 323 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.3L V-8 uses Displacement on Demand technology to regulate between eight-cylinder and four-cylinder operation, providing up to 8 percent improved fuel economy in certain driving conditions.

Chevrolet Silverado is GM's best-selling vehicle and has earned its reputation for top-notch performance, dependability and capability. Silverado also is known for having one of the broadest model ranges in the industry, with a diverse array of body styles and powertrains that combine to create the vehicles to meet every full-size pickup customer's needs, whether professional or personal. The Silverado lineup's diversity and performance capability expands in the 2006 model year, with new models and revised powertrain offerings, including nationwide availability of the Silverado 1500 Hybrid. Here's a look at all that's new, including a new front-end appearance for 1500/1500HD/2500HD models. A prominent gold bowtie is centered on a new, dual-port grille design, while the power dome hood – a design borrowed from Silverado 3500 models – conveys strength. The new front end has a refined look, with a body-color bumper top cap, while the power dome hood gives all Silverado models a strong, cohesive appearance.

SS – the moniker synonymous with value and Chevrolet performance – is found on nine 2006 models, from the Cobalt SS and SS Supercharged compacts to the Silverado SS and new TrailBlazer SS. There have never been more Chevy SS models offered during a single model year. The new TrailBlazer SS, with its 395-horsepower (294 kw)* 6.0L V-8 engine, is the first SUV to wear the SS badge and boasts a suspension tuned on racetracks including Germany's famed Nürburgring.

Chevrolet Uplander added new dimensions of style and versatility to the mid-van segment with its introduction for 2005. A crossover sport van for those who want it all, the Uplander delivers the bold styling of an SUV, the passenger room and interior versatility of a van, and the smooth ride of a sedan. Uplander can seat up to seven, along with offering numerous cargo configurations. For 2006, safety features including dual-stage frontal air bags with GM's Passenger Sensing System are enhanced with available side-impact air bags for the first- and second-row outboard seating positions.
