GMC Envoy XL Denali
For 2006, the focus is on a freshened exterior appearance and a higher level of safety.
The appearance of Envoy and Envoy XL models is freshened for 2006 with a new chrome grille accent, new chrome bodyside molding and new side and rear badges on SLE and SLT trim levels. Envoy Denali and Envoy XL Denali also receive new rear badges for 2006. There's no mistaking the new 18-inch high-polished, forged aluminum wheels on 2006 Envoy Denali models. These strong, durable and lightweight wheels are shod with P245/60R18 all-season steel-belted radial tires. A single antenna for OnStar and XM Satellite Radio is now featured on all Envoy models.
GMC Sierra
For the 2006 model year, Sierra's versatility expands with new models, including an Extended Cab with short-length cargo box (available with 2WD or 4WD) and new base-model 1500 SL Crew Cab models (2WD and 4WD) that carry a lower MSRP than previous Crew Cab models.
On the performance front, a new VortecMAX Performance Package delivers improved towing; an increase in the 5.3L V-8 engine's gross vehicle weight rating results in improved payload levels on extended and Crew Cab models; and engine upgrades to the Duramax Diesel 6600 result in enhanced horsepower and torque. In addition, the Sierra Heavy-Duty lineup is bolstered with the Allison 1000 Series transmission, which grows from a five-speed automatic to a six-speed.
