Hummer H1 Alpha
The new 2006 H1 Alpha, featuring GM's award-winning Duramax 6600 diesel engine, is the first in HUMMER's new performance series and represents the single greatest advance in the 14-year history of the original HUMMER.
The H1 Alpha delivers more power, more torque, and enhanced on- and off-road capability, with significantly improved fuel economy. As was the case for previous H1 models, the 2006 H1 Alpha is offered in both Open Top and Wagon models. The Duramax 6600 replaces the previous 6.5L Optimizer Turbo-Diesel, which continues as the power plant for the military HUMVEE. All commercial H1s produced for the 2006 model year will be H1 Alpha models.
Hummer H3
The new H3 packs style and capability into its midsize dimensions. Compared to the H2, the H3 is 16.9 inches shorter in length, 6 inches shorter in height and 6.5 inches narrower. Roughly the same length as a midsize family sedan, H3 comfortably navigates city traffic and delivers HUMMER's trademark incredible crawling and climbing capability. H3 is projected to reach peak fuel economy of up to 20 miles per gallon. It will be the first HUMMER to offer the choice of a manual or an automatic transmission, as many off-road enthusiasts value the ultimate control of a manual. The H3 was engineered for off-road leadership among midsize SUVs. The heart of the truck's capability is its electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system.
