Porsche 911 997 Turbo

The 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo combines the latest evolution of variable-geometry turbochargers and automatic transmissions to produce stunning standing-start acceleration figures. Equipped with the newly updated and optional 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, the all-wheel-drive 911 Turbo will accelerate from a standing start to 60 mph in only 3.4 seconds. This is 0.3 seconds quicker than a 911 Turbo equipped with the standard 6-speed manual transmission. The impressive performance is due to close integration of the variable turbine geometry (VTG) system, the updated Tiptronic S transmission, and the new electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system. Porsche's variable turbine geometry (VTG) setup on the 2007 911 Turbo was developed in close cooperation with Borg Warner Turbo Systems, and is based on technology which has been widely and successfully applied to diesel engines since the early 1990s.

Porsche Cayman

Based on the award-winning Boxster, the new version of the mid-engineered sports coupe is a more accessible version of the Cayman S. The Cayman brings legendary Porsche-coupe capabilities—with the same voluptuous styling of the Cayman S—to a new and lower price point. The new Porsche Cayman is powered by a 2.7-liter six-cylinder Boxer engine producing 245 horsepower. Thanks to the Porsche VarioCam Plus system, the Cayman provides a broad spread of usable power, with a plateau of torque peaking at 201 foot-pounds between 4,600 and 6,000 revs. With a manual transmission, the responsive engine is capable of propelling the new Cayman from a standstill to 60 mph in only 5.8 seconds. The Cayman is rated at 23/32 mpg city/highway.

Porsche Boxster S

The 2007 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S mid-engined sports cars will be given more power and torque via new engines featuring Porsche VarioCam Plus. For the 2007 model year, the capabilities of the drop-top roadsters are also extended with an updated version of the optional Tiptronic S automatic transmission and additional functions of the optional Sport Chrono Package. Thanks to this system, the Boxster and Boxster S engines have characteristically strong pulling power, combined with high peak-output and impressive fuel efficiency. The engine in the Boxster S has been enlarged from 3.2 to 3.4 liters, and now develops 295 horsepower at 6250 rpm – 15 horsepower more than its predecessor. Torque has also swelled 15 pound-feet, to 251 lb.-ft. The Boxster S sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. The car's top test-track speed has risen 2 mph to 169 mph.
