GMC Acadia
Introduced in 2007, the Acadia debuted as GMC's first foray into the crossover market, offering seating for up to eight and combining the capability of an SUV with a smooth ride and responsive handling. Acadia is offered in SLE and SLT trims, with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. A comprehensive safety system includes six standard air bags and standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation technology. Responsive performance in all models is derived from GM's 3.6L V-6 VVT, rated at 275 horsepower (205 kW) and 251 lb.-ft. of torque (340 Nm).* The engine is backed by a fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6T75 six-speed automatic transmission. A new Panic Brake Assist feature is added to the 2008 Acadia . When panic braking is detected, the system automatically develops maximum brake boost to mitigate a driver's tendency to brake without using enough force. Also, Acadia AWD models feature a new Active On Demand all-wheel-drive system that delivers a more refined driving experience.
GMC Canyon
The 2008 GMC Canyon lineup builds on the significant product enhancements there were implemented in 2007, including two all-new, more powerful engines. As a result, changes for '08 are minimal and include OnStar as standard equipment on all models, the inclusion of halogen front fog lamps on all models and the addition of three new exterior colors: Red Orange Metallic, Carbon Black Metallic and Dark Steel Gray Metallic. Unchanged is the stylish, capable package that truck customers have come to expect from Canyon. Canyon's lineup includes regular cab, extended cab and crew cab body styles; two pickup bed lengths; two available suspensions and two inline engines. Vehicles are offered in Work Truck, SLE and SLT trims. The popular Z71 Off Road package offers distinctive visual cues to augment its suspension differentiation; it is available on 2WD and 4WD models.

Changes for '08 include standard XM Satellite Radio on all models, availability of a power-adjustable driver's seat on regular cab models with a bench seat.
Also new for '08 is an integrated trailer brake controller on light-duty models. It is available on extended cab and crew cab models. Later in the 2008 model year, the Sierra All Terrain will debut. This special model is based on the popular Z71 Off Road package and offers a distinctive, eye-catching combination of style and refinement. GMC Sierra 2500HD & 3500HD
GMC Sierra introduced all-new heavy-duty pickups during the '07 model year. They were highlighted by all-new and differentiated exterior designs, two unique interiors and class-leading power and efficiency. They roll into 2008 ready for work or leisure, with minor refinements and enhancements, while still loaded with segment-leading and segment-exclusive features.
Sierra heavy-duties are offered in a range of 2500HD (three-quarter-ton) and 3500HD (one-ton) models and are available in WT, SLE and SLT trim. The range of configurations – three cab styles, three cargo box styles and five wheelbase lengths – delivers tremendous choice. Some full-size truck manufacturers do not even offer three-quarter-ton or one-ton heavy-duty trucks.
GMC Yukon & Yukon XL
Last year, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs were all-new. They build on that new platform with changes and innovations for the 2008 model year, including the introduction of the Yukon Hybrid and a new six-speed automatic transmission for the Yukon XL 2500 heavy-duty model. The Yukon and Yukon XL are based on GM's acclaimed full-size SUV platform and feature distinctive styling, spacious and refined interiors, exceptional driving characteristics and segment-leading safety features. Indeed, safety also is enhanced for '08, as head curtain side air bags are now standard for all seating rows on all models. Yukon XL 2500 three-quarter-ton features standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control system and available chrome-finish 17-inch aluminum wheels, along with its new, fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include power liftgate, power release second-row fold-and-tumble bucket seat, head curtain side air bags, power-adjustable pedals, heated windshield washer system, electrochromic (auto-dimming) inside mirror, RainSense automatic windshield wipers, remote start system and Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist.
GMC Yukon Hybrid
The 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid, featuring the world's first two-mode hybrid propulsion system in an SUV, will offer consumers a 25-percent improvement in overall fuel economy when it arrives at dealerships toward the end of next year. By utilizing innovative hybrid technology and Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation technology, the Yukon Hybrid will deliver a spectacular combination of fuel efficiency and power, while maintaining the capabilities of a full-size SUV.
"GMC has always stood for engineering excellence, so we're extremely proud to be the first to market with a two-mode hybrid SUV to further improve our segment-leading fuel economy while providing all the performance you expect from GMC," said John Larson, general manager, GMC.
