Saturn Astra

"The Astra is a great fit for Saturn, with its European style and driving dynamics," said Jill Lajdziak, Saturn general manager. "It also signals our efforts to get new vehicles to market quickly and reinvent the entire Saturn product lineup with unprecedented speed." The Saturn Astra will be nearly identical to the 2007.5 Opel Astra, unveiled this week at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy. It will be sold in the United States and Canada in three-door and five-door configurations. The Astra is part of the larger collaboration between Saturn and Opel. By sharing resources from throughout GM's global network of design and engineering centers, the two brands can develop strong, broad product lineups that will attract buyers to the brands both in North America and Europe. Early examples of this collaboration include the Saturn Sky and upcoming Opel GT, as well as the Opel Antara and 2008 Saturn Vue.

Saturn Sky

Saturn's much-in-demand Sky roadster has helped usher in an unprecedented product renaissance, and it makes a bold statement about the brand's new design language that emphasizes a bold, European-inspired look, as well as fun, responsive driving. The affordable, head-turning performance roadster enters its second model year of wowing driving enthusiasts without draining their bank accounts. Built on GM's global rear-wheel-drive compact performance platform, the Sky features a striking profile and sophisticated interior design. For 2008, Saturn adds standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control for more sure-footed travel; and a limited-slip differential on all models. An upgraded standard radio system and newly standard XM Satellite Radio, as well as an available Monsoon audio system, amp up the entertainment factor. With a commanding road presence and stance; sharp lines; and a clean, sleek surface, the Sky offers a distinctly European look. Decorative hood vents emphasize its dynamic performance character and accentuate its long dash-to-axle appearance. For 2008, Techno Gray replaces Silver Graphite in the color palette, and Carbon Flash will be offered on a limited basis in the middle of the model year.

Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid

Saturn announces two new variants of the completely redesigned 2008 Vue crossover utility: the performance-tuned Red Line and the affordable, fuel-saving Green Line hybrid. The Red Line builds on the new Vue's bold styling with an aggressive front-end design, including a large, lower air opening and projector beam fog lamps. The rear of the vehicle features a special fascia, spoiler and chrome exhaust tips. A lowered suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels and Red Line badges complete the performance-inspired appearance. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Vue Red Line will be available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Interior modifications include a Red Line-only Ebony interior, including black leather sport seats with suede fabric inserts. The vehicle also features Red Line-logo instrument cluster graphics and embroidered floor mats.
