1950 Daimler DE36 Hooper Convertible Coupe
The 1950 Daimler DE 36 Hooper Drophead Coupe is one of only eight produced. The first one built was called the "Green Goddess," and all that followed were nicknamed the same, despite their color. All eight were distinct from one another. This wonderfully restored example won "Best in Class" at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 1994. This vehicle, built for "Daimler Co." USA, is a drophead 2-door convertible coupe that has a fully hand-crafted aluminum body built by Hooper & Co. Coach Builders Ltd., London, England. It is powered by a 5.5 liter Daimler straight eight that produces around 150 hp. This vehicle was donated to the museum by Wesley and Nancy LeMatta in 2007, and was once a part of the famed Harrah car collection.
