Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius continues into 2009 as the best-selling gas-electric hybrid vehicle in the U.S. and the world. Prius provides the best fuel efficiency ratings of any midsize car, with an EPA-estimated city/highway rating of 48/45 mpg. The seemingly “reversed” city/highway figures reflect the unique powertrain optimized for maximum efficiency in the kind of slow-and-go driving of urban commuters.

Toyota Venza

Toyota Venza

The all-new Venza crossover sedan will raise the crossover vehicle to new levels by combining a unique blend of sedan refinement and sport utility vehicle (SUV) functionality.
"The all-new Venza was developed as a vehicle that combines the styling, comfort and fun-to-drive performance elements of a five-passenger sedan with the surprising utility of an SUV," says Bob Carter, Toyota Division group vice president and general manager. "This winning combination will be ideal for active ‘boomers' and young couples with small families."
The exterior design of the four-door Venza begins with an imposing front end featuring a distinctive grille, headlights and fog lamps for an aggressive, yet classy appearance. The front conforms to a sleek and aerodynamic shape with short overhangs, crisp character lines and a roofline and ground clearance that are lower than a typical crossover.

Toyota Corolla

Toyota Corolla

Nearly 40 years after the Corolla was introduced to American drivers, an all-new, 10th generation 2009 Corolla will continue to offer the quality and value for which the brand has long been known. The new Corolla remains true to the brand's role as a subcompact sedan, with dimensions similar to the model it replaces. But it offers an all-new body with a lean, muscular shape, and it delivers increased interior and luggage room, more power, more economical engines and an all-new chassis and suspension. Corolla's wide, low profile was developed by Toyota Design in collaboration with styling studios in Turin, Italy. Using a modeling technique called “sweep cut,” designers crafted character lines that sweep from the hood toward the A-pillars, and that carry back from the top edge of the front bumper into the subtle but muscular front-fender flares.

Toyota Matrix

Toyota Matrix

The sporty five-door vehicle that helped redefine the concept of a crossover vehicle, has been redesigned for the 2009 model year to offer performance that matters for driver enjoyment. Development of the 2009 Matrix focused on greater exterior coupe-like styling with enhanced interior utility and improved dynamic performance. The result is a package that has a wider, lower stance than the current model, but maintains interior space. The new Matrix offers the choice of two different engines, a five-speed manual transmission, and either four- or five-speed automatic transmissions. Matrix will be available in three grades–Standard, S and the XRS. And this year Matrix once again offers the option of all-wheel drive (AWD) with the S grade.
